Who We Are

Announcement: It is with huge sadness for everyone connected with Rathcoole Football Club to inform you all of the tragic passing of our U16s manager William McClure. Bill was a favourite amongst his young players and his passion for the game was there for all to see. Having joined the club in the summer, it wasn't long before he was making friends and throwing himself into the job, often seen on Saturday afternoons for a double helping of football, taking in the mens games. He ingrained himself into the club and for that we will all be forever grateful. Our thoughts go out to his young players and the two Marks that worked alongside him. The only thing that outweighed his passion of the game was the love for his family and loved ones that he leaves behind and to them we offer our love, sympathy and any help that we can offer. We will keep you in our thoughts. A sad time for not just the club but for anyone connected to football and the local area. Rest in Peace, Bill. We won't forget you. RFC

Rathcoole Football club are a junior-level football club playing in Division 1 of the Ballymena Provincial League in Northern Ireland.

The club was founded in 2012. The club is based in Rathcoole, Newtownabbey, County Antrim, playing their home games at the Diamond, a two pitch facility that they previously shared with the now defunct Rathfern Rangers.

They gained intermediate status in 2013 and competed in the Irish Cup for the first time in 2015–16, reaching the second round. However the club returned to the junior ranks for the 2016-17 season by dropping down a division. In July 2017 the team rebuilt and re-registered for the 2017-2018 season.

We have a second team playing in the 3rd Division of the Ballymena League and two youth team - under 16s and under 18s.
